Frequently asked questions

Why participate?

During the event you will have the opportunity to turn your ideas into prototypes, learn new skills and meet other aspiring entrepreneurs. Furthermore, mentors will be present who will guide and support the teams from conception to validation up to the development of the prototype.

Is this event right for me?

If you are interested in entrepreneurship, chances are you are. Whether you are a serial entrepreneur or a new face on the startup scene, the important thing to make the most of this experience is to be motivated to build a product or a startup, but also to be open to new ideas.

The event aims to be a collaborative and inclusive forum to share, learn, build and have fun. At Techstars Startup Weekend Las Vegas we welcome everyone, regardless of experience, sector or background.

Can I sign up alone?

Those who register for the event are required to come to the event without a team. This is important to preserve the Startup Weekend learning experience. Then on Friday the teams will be formed and you will be the leader of one of these or you will join another team. The ideal team is made up of members with different backgrounds and experiences who collaborate.

Do I have to submit an idea to participate?

No, but we encourage you to do so. You can propose an idea you’ve been thinking about for years, or something that comes to mind at the last minute during the event. However, it is important not to present an idea that you have already developed or worked on outside of Startup Weekend as this would lose the purpose of the event, which is to learn how to go from idea to product.

Friday’s pitch represents a precious moment to test yourself and speak in public. You may regret not doing it, but you will hardly regret doing it.

What is included in the ticket price?

The ticket price includes everything you will need during the weekend: paper, pen, post-its, food and drinks. We remind you to bring your PC or tablet.

Participation in the event will then allow you to enter the community of local entrepreneurs, participate in networking events and why not, find excellent opportunities for personal, professional and hopefully entrepreneurial development.

How much does a ticket cost?

$40.
